Hebrews 2:16-18
For verily HE+ took not on HIM+ the nature of angels;
but HE+ took on HIM + the seed of Abraham.

2:17 Wherefore in all things it behooved HIM+
to be made like unto His+ brethren,
that HE+ might be a merciful and faithful High Priest
in things pertaining to GOD,
to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
2:18 For in that HE+ HIMSELF+ hath suffered being tempted, HE+ is able to succour them that are tempted.

WHY was it to His+ great advantage or profit ( behooved ) that HE+ took upon HIMSELF+ the likeness of the seed of Abraham and became man ?
It was so that HE+ could become our merciful and faithful High Priest Who+ could make an acceptable sin offering for us to The FATHER. . . an offering of His+ Blood.
Which fact leads us to the conclusion:
HE+ came to die.
His+ Life and sacrificial death was for us , His+ Brethren, the ones for whom HE+ was not ashamed !
WHY was HE+ not ashamed of us ?
Because HE+ was able --- and willing --- “to run up to help us” . . . with all HIS+ MIGHT ! And thus, we could win over the devil’s traps and temptations.
That is PRECISELY what “succor” means: to run up to someone or thing for the purpose of rendering aid or relief.
HE+ knows us well.
HE+ knows the strength of our temptations well.
HE+ knows who the tempter is .
Even further,
The LORD JESUS CHRIST knew
how to beat the tempter.
AND . . .
HE+ STILL DOES !

GLORY TO GOD MOST HIGH !
