I must work the works of HIM that sent ME+,
while it is day:
the night cometh,
when no man can work.
As long as I am in the world,
I am the Light of the world.
Our LORD JESUS CHRIST spoke these words to His+ disciples as they questioned him about the man born blind, whom The LORD subsequently healed in a marvelous fashion.
HE+ is speaking these words now to me.
and heard an angel flying
through the midst of Heaven*,
saying with a loud voice,
Woe, woe, woe,
to the inhabiters of the earth
by reason of the other voices of the trumpet
of the three angels,
which are yet to sound!
This ominous warning is full of mysteries:
how does one HEAR an angel flying?
Even more mysterious is WHERE the angel is flying.
The Greek text uses the phrase: en mesouranAmati. This does NOT mean “in the middle of Heaven.” En means “in”, signifying the use of the dative case. But the word mesouranAmati means: the highest point of the sun’s circuit in the sky, the zenith, midair, directly overhead.
Thus, a more accurate reading would be:
“And I heard an angel flying
at / within the highest point of the sun’s circuit.”
Work…for the Night Cometh.
