Several modern versions based on the Alexandrian Texts mis-translate MONOGENAS, in John 1:18 and through-out the New Testament, which literally means "ONLY-BEGOTTEN" .
MONOGENAS does NOT mean "only" and it does not mean "unique", as modern Alexandrian versions would have us to believe.
Oddly enough, the Alexandrian TEXTS THEMSELVES, are not to blame; they all have MONOGENAS in them. So WHY are the modern translators substituting all manner of terms instead of presenting readers the literal meaning of that Greek word ?
