HE+ Came to DESTROY the Works of the devil ~ 1 John 3:8 ~ ADVENT 2022

 1 John 3:8

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the SON+ OF GOD was manifested:

that HE+

might destroy the works of the devil.

Hebrews 2:14 

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, HE+ also HIMSELF+ likewise took part of the same;

that through death

HE+ might destroy

him that had the power of death,

that is, the devil;

Luke 10:18

And HE+ said unto them,

I+ beheld satan as lightning fall from Heaven.

^10:19  Behold, I+ give unto you power [ authority ] to tread on

serpents and scorpions,

and over all the power of the enemy:

and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

^10:20  Notwithstanding in this rejoice not,

that the spirits are subject unto you;

but rather rejoice,

because your names are written in Heaven.

Is the SON+ of GOD made manifest in our life ?

Is HE+ living in us so apparently, so obviously  that others --- both visible and invisible --- can see HIM+ ? 

Are the spirits subject to us ?

Is the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD resting upon us so strongly that our Witness for JESUS goes forth . . . without a word being spoken ?

If not, there is a sure and certain METHOD to sharpen our Witness for CHRIST:  die to Self.

Dying to Self starts in little, daily ways with little Self-indulgences being submitted to the LORDSHIP of CHRIST JESUS.

Fasting for CHRIST’S sake helps us die to Self.

Fasting from our favorite foods ( coffee ? cream ? )  for a day, a week, or a month helps to bring the body under submission to The HOLY SPIRIT.

Fasting our free TIME is a very PROFITABLE type of fasting, as well.

Indeed, fasting from ANY of our temporal interests or bodily demands --- naps, coffee,  the internet, the subtly-insistent smart phones , etc. ---  helps to bring us under submission to HIM+.

During the withdrawal struggle, we draw close to The LORD JESUS to receive His+ help.

HE+ always, always helps us, and our interaction is with HIM+ instead of with our smart phone or emails. 

When HE+ controls us so deeply, the HOLY SPIRIT rests upon us with intensity. 

The spirits of this world RECOGNIZE that DIVINE SPIRIT,

even if we do not !

The spirits of this world will REACT to us, just like they did to The LORD JESUS.

HE+ came to destroy the works of the devil who TRIES to control us --- our thoughts, our emotions, our words, and our behavior.

Let us turn away from those subtle influences of the devil and put our body’s desires and our mind’s interests under submission to The LORD JESUS.

Let us learn to GLORIFY The LORD JESUS in our body and spirit, WHICH ARE THE LORD’S.

Then our hearts will be made GLAD when we become aware that THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is being made manifest in us and through us. . .  with or without a word being spoken !
