# 9 LENTEN MEDITATION ~ 2023 ~ for the Preparation of the GREAT PASSOVER ~~~ The Morning Sacrifice in the Temple ~ The Pounding of the Nails at 9 a.m.

 

 This series of Lenten / Passover Meditations will reflect the 3^rd Hour Prayer ( 9 a.m. ) Station observed by the Early Christians. 

Today, many liturgical churches continue to observe these ancient prayer hours.  They were based upon the prayer hours in the Temple in Jerusalem.

The Morning Prayer came at the time of the Morning Sacrifice in the Temple, the very time that The LORD JESUS was nailed to the Cross.  Here is the first stanza.

 3RD HOUR MORNING PRAYER

Heavenly FATHER, we come before YOU at this 3^rd hour of the ancient day, the hour of the Morning Sacrifice in the Temple . . . that same hour that Your Beloved SON+, the LAMB+ of GOD that taketh away the sin of the world, was offered up on the Cross for our sakes.

It is good to stop our activities at 9 a.m. every morning to return thanks to THE FATHER in Heaven for loving us enough to send forth HIS Beloved SON+ JESUS CHRIST to die for us.

The pattern was established in the First Covenant: there would be a Morning Sacrifice of an unblemished lamb at the 9 a.m. hour.  Everything was precisely set in the Old Covenant .

That PRECISION was purposeful: to present a pattern before the eyes of GOD’S Ancient People so that they would recognize their MESSIAH+:  HE+ would be the ETERNAL Morning Sacrifice. . . A Divine Sacrifice never to be repeated.

No more would there need to be another unblemished little lamb to be sacrificed every day of every year at the time of the Morning Sacrifice in the Temple after HE+ became that sacrificial LAMB+   

It  was   FINISHED . . .

with this last Morning Sacrifice

of the Holy LAMB+ of GOD.
