The People Who Walked in DARKNESS Have Seen a Great LIGHT+ --- Isaiah 9:2 --- ADVENT 2022

ADVENT  . . . the time to prepare our hearts for HIM+ Who+ is the LIGHT of Life. 

We worship HIM+ for His+ Redeeming First Advent. 

Likewise, we worship HIM+ in preparation for His+ Second ADVENT . 

Isaiah 9:2

The people that walked in darkness have seen a Great LIGHT+: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath The LIGHT+ shined. 

What is darkness ?

It is the ABSENCE of LIGHT

. . .  the absence of His+ LIGHT,

according to Isaiah 9:2, above.

Matthew 4:16

The people that sat in darkness Saw a great LIGHT+, And to them that sat in the region and shadow of death, To them did LIGHT+ spring up.

 

According to Scriptures, which cannot lie. . .

John 1:4 -5

In HIM+ was Life;

and the Life was the LIGHT+ of men.

And the LIGHT+ shineth in darkness;

and the darkness

comprehended it not.

DARKNESS cannot  in any way comprehend, understand, nor prohibit the LIGHT from shining.

DARKNESS itself cannot quench --- that is, has NO POWER to quench --- even a tiny, burning match.

DARKNESS has no intrinsic power to snuff out a candle or any light beaming into it.

Any light beamed into a dark place HAS the pre-eminence over the DARKNESS. In short, DARKNESS must submit to LIGHT.  

The light itself must continue to burn until it is either quenched by an outside agent or else thoroughly consumed.

However, the DARKNESS  itself has NO POWER over the LIGHT.

Why ?

Because . . .

The ELOHIM -- The FATHER, SON+, and HOLY SPIRIT ---   created HIS GOD-LIGHT, said it was good, and divided the Light from the Darkness. HE called the Light “Day” and the Darkness “Night”.

So, The ELOHIM moved Darkness aside

and inserted HIS LIGHT

in the place HE ordained for Light to be.

[ Recall :The sun was created on “ Day Four” , three days AFTER the Light of GOD entered the world. See Genesis 1:2-5.]

Is there a LIGHT that can NEVER be consumed ?

YES.  

It is GOD’S LIGHT which illuminates the inner man

through Our LORD JESUS CHRIST.

John 1:9

That was the TRUE LIGHT+,

which lighteth every man

that cometh into the world.

Those who Follow JESUS are illuminated with His+ LIGHT.

No other light is available for the heart of man.

Those who do NOT follow JESUS --- by self-will or by happenstance, never having heard His+ Name --- have no Light in them. None whatsoever.

The LORD JESUS said:

John 8:12 

Then spake JESUS again unto them, saying,

I+ AM THE LIGHT of the world:

[  εγώ ειμι τὸ φως του κόσμου· ]

[  I+ , I+  AM the LIGHT of the cosmos . ]

 

he that followeth ME+ shall not walk in darkness,

but shall have the LIGHT of Life.

DARKNESS enters the soul of man through disobedience to His+ Word, through fear, through anxiety, through worry, and through doubt.

The LORD JESUS came to be the UNQUENCHABLE LIGHT chasing the Darkness from your heart. 

Is the LIGHT of CHRIST illuminating your heart SO THOROUGHLY that there is NO darkness in it ?

LET US PRAY:

O HOLY FATHER, THOU hast given us the LIGHT Which+ Lighteth every man which enters this world . . . yet I have allowed my thoughts to be darkened with worry, fear, doubt, and anxieties of every sort.

Then in the grip of that darkness, I re-embrace my own will instead of seeking Thine.  

O LORD, take not Thy HOLY SPIRIT from me! I repent of allowing these avenues of darkness into my soul.

Instead, I will take the Cup of Salvation, and Call upon the Name of The LORD.

O, shed Thy Divine LIGHT upon me again and lead me in a plain path daily.

This I pray , O Holy FATHER, in the LIFE-GIVING Name of The LORD JESUS CHRIST Who+ was given to be THE  one and only LIGHT of the World, THE one and only LIGHT of light my soul.  Amen
