ASHES TO ASHES,
DUST to DUST,
in a sure and certain HOPE
of the Resurrection unto Eternal LIFE,
THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Ash Wednesday, normally considered a high-church holy day, is a brief but somber worship service. It begins the LENTEN season. .. the Spring season in which we commemorate the Death and Resurrection of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Thus, during LENT:
We prepare our hearts for BURIAL.
