What CHILD+ is This ?

And she brought forth a MAN CHILD+,
WHO+ was to rule all nations with a Rod of Iron:
and her CHILD+ was caught up unto GOD, and to HIS throne.

7 And there was war in Heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in Heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the devil, and satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Be AWARE of three Greek words in this passage which mean something OTHER than what is apparent in our English translations.
“SERPENT” here does not equal “snake”. This Greek word is ophis [ pronounced like “office” ] --- a sharp-eyed one , not the zoological creature studied by herpetologists who focus on reptiles and amphibians.
The second word-alert is for the word “strength.”
The original Greek word is δυναμιν [ dunamin ] , which means POWER or force. We can readily see that our English word “dynamite” comes from this Greek word. Translators have chosen to use the word “strength” here instead of POWER.
The third Greek word which bears scrutiny is εξουσία [ exousia ] which means AUTHORITY. Instead of “authority”, translators have used power in its place. [ Why ? There is a perfectly good word for “power” in the Greek language, as we have seen in the previous phrase of this very verse ! ]
Thus that passage should read:
And the great dragon was cast out, that old sharp-eyed one called the devil, and satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
And I heard a loud voice saying in Heaven, Now is come Salvation, and POWER and the Kingdom of our GOD, and the AUTHORITY of HIS CHRIST: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our GOD day and night. Revelation 12:9-10
It is QUITE interesting how the LITERAL rendering of the Greek words changes the nuances of the passage, revealing in much stronger terms the Truth of The LORD . . . and what HE+ is going to DO during His+ SECOND Advent.
During the First Advent of The LORD JESUS, we see that HE+ gave His+ Authority to the 70, sending them two by two before His+ Face into every city and place where HE+ would go. ( Luke 10:1 )
Here is what happened:
And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, LORD, even the devils are subject unto us through Thy+ Name.
And HE+ said unto them,
I+ beheld satan as lightning fall from Heaven.
Behold, I+ give unto you power [εξουσιαν = AUTHORITY ] to tread on serpents [ ophis = sharp-eyed ones ] and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:17-19
[ When did HE+ see satan fall as lightning out of Heaven? See verses Revelation 12: 7 -8 and Advent post # 12. ]
The Resurrected JESUS told His+ Disciples:
And JESUS came and spake unto them, saying,All power [ AUTHORITY ] is given unto ME+
in Heaven and in earth.

LET US PRAY
LORD JESUS, we are SO thankful that YOU+ came to deliver us from the power AND AUTHORITY of satan over our lives during Your+ FIRST ADVENT.
Now we have AUTHORITY in Your+ Name to tread upon satan’s sharp-eyed ones, which are the demons, and to overcome the spirits of the menfolk who agree with satan.
We are sorry that we have not walked in the AUTHORITY that YOU+ have given us long ago. We have backed down when faced with the works of the devil, even in our own lives.
We have not stretched ourselves to take that AUTHORITY we have IN YOUR+ NAME to release those bound by the devil and his demons.
LORD JESUS, increase our faith and change our focus.
Help us to see YOU+ as YOU+ really are: KING+ of all kings and LORD+ of all the lords on this earth.
Make us brave --- and diligent --- to engage in the spiritual warfare that is taking place all around us.
We all know about Your+ FIRST ADVENT , slipping quietly into the world via an insignificant maiden and her family, seen by a handful of poor shepherds at the time and the glorious choir of Angels announcing Your+ Birth.
How we long for Your+ Mighty SECOND ADVENT !
The SECOND TIME YOU+ come to planet earth, YOU+ will not be slipping into the world unobtrusively. YOU+ will be seen by the entire, groaning world as Your+ Feet touch the Mount of Olives once again.
Help us to be brave to RESCUE men from the grip of satan NOW . . . before TIME for mercy on planet earth runs out.
Maranatha ! Come, LORD JESUS. Come.
