The SIGN of the CROSS . . . or . . . the MARK of the beast ?

Sign of the Cross or Mark of the beast ?

Each person will  HAVE to choose which one he will take. There is no middle ground, no other option, and no escape from making the CHOICE.

 

A spirit of deception --- STRONG DELUSION --- will ACCOMPANY the Mark of the beast. It will blind the eyes and confuse the discernment. Lies will APPEAR as truth, to the destruction of the ones receiving the Mark of the beast. 

We know this will happen BECAUSE THE LORD HIMSELF+ WILL SEND this APPOINTED strong delusion upon all who love unrighteousness. 

That is how dangerous it is to receive the Mark.

2 Thessalonians 2:11-12

And for this cause GOD shall send them strong delusion, that they SHOULD BELIEVE A LIE: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Scripture says those persons are gone at that point, belonging forevermore to the satan. For what or whom you believe, you worship.

Let us remember: The Mark of the beast is an ECONOMIC mark, placed in the hand or forehead. 

It will allow those who receive it to buy and sell. It will “open” the economy of every country, allowing people to go back to work, to school, to career training and enter the job market,  to sell their labor and receive a paycheck. 

Takers of the Mark of the beast will be able to engage in commerce and pay property taxes, as well as pay for licenses and official certificates and diplomas of all sorts which pervade Western Civilization.  It will allow people to travel; it will double as a passport and as an identity Mark.

It will function as a “secure”, implanted, BANK ACCOUNT to replace cash, checking accounts, bank drafts, and plastic cards as each country’s currency becomes obsolete.

Who would NOT want such a convenient Mark ?

Those who Follow JESUS CHRIST.

Followers of JESUS are being warned right now to watch out for the coming of this Mark which will damn their souls and prohibit Eternity with JESUS in the Heavenly Kingdom of GOD.  

Is the Mark Here ?

The LORD, however, has already provided a SIGN for the Followers of JESUS. 

HIS+ SIGN will be placed on the FOREHEAD

of those who are SEALED

with the SEAL OF GOD.

Furthermore, this important SIGN is spoken of in two important places in Scripture: 

Ezekiel 9:4 and Revelation 9:4 

--- a double indication of the STRONG PROPHETIC implication of the message in those two verses.

SEAL OF GOD in Revelation 9:4 

And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have NOT the SEAL of GOD in their FOREHEADS.

MARK OF GOD in Ezekiel 9:4

And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, 

and SET A MARK

[Literal Hebrew: Mark =  TAV =  ת = "T"  ]

UPON THE FOREHEADS 

of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

Ezekiel 9:5-6

And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: 

but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the House ( of GOD) .

From the Orthodox Jewish Bible, Ezekiel 9:4

 [ Explanatory words in Blue ]  : 

|4| And Hashem [The LORD] said unto him, Go through the midst of the Ir [ city ], through the midst of Yerushalayim, and put a TAV  [ T = a Cross ] upon the mitzekhot (foreheads) of the anashim [ men ] that grieve and lament for kol hato'evot [ all the abominations ]  that are being done in the midst thereof.

Now then, the interesting correlation of these two verses is: 

1) They both are talking about a SIGN being placed upon the foreheads of the Righteous.

2)  Both verses involve the angels or messengers of GOD who are sealing up HIS Servants or who have already done so .   

3)  Both verses are talking about THE SAME SIGN.

4) The SIGN made a difference between the Righteous and the ungodly. 

5) That “difference” meant the difference between life and death.

6) The LORD’s angels or messengers did the slaying.

7)  The SIGN which sealed them for life was the SIGN of the Cross. 

This is not simply a theory or wishful thinking by zealous Christians. 

It is a FACT that Jewish writers and historians and language experts have noted. 

TAV is in the literal Hebrew, as is shown above in the Orthodox Jewish Bible translation from the Hebrew of Ezekiel 9:4. 

BUT WHAT IS A “TAV” ? 

TAV is the 22 letter of the Hebrew alphabet, a DOUBLE two. It is the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet. 

Hebrew was a PICTOGRAPHIC, Semitic language. In other words, the ancient Hebrew language was written in picture-type symbols  instead of phonetic ( sound) symbols. 

It is interesting to note that the ancient TAV was a  CROSS, according to many, many historical records. 

 

Dr. Frank T. Seekins traces through Jewish sources the history  of TAV being a CROSS which indicated:  

1.  ownership

2.  finished, whole, complete

3.  to seal

4.  to make a covenant

5.  to join two things together

6.  to make a sign

For nearly two and a half pages, Dr. Seekins quotes accounts from a variety of  Jewish sources which state the ancient Hebrew TAV was a CROSS.

Here are a few of his references in his volume.  

pg. 96 :  A glossy color picture of the Cross-shaped Tav is at the top of the page, “The ancient Tav from a 1^st Century grave near Jerusalem.”  

The second glossy picture on that page is a Jewish Revolt coin 70 A.D., which states in Ancient Hebrew letters, “For the Redemption of Zion” and depicts the Cross for a Tav. 

Dr. Seekins states on that same page: 

“Originally a picture of a Cross was a sign of ownership, a mark of protection, a signature or the mark of GOD.”

Some other references in Dr. Seekins’ book stating a CROSS was the TAV ( T ), pages 212-213: 

The Talmud: Shabbath 55 a, quotes Ezekiel 9:4. Also in the Talmud, Mas. Menachoth 74b, stated the Tav in the form of a Cross was used as the Sign of GOD to anoint wafers used in the Temple.

 ( He wrote his explanation as the Greek “chi” letter, which is like an X. )

The Jewish Encyclopedia: “It is not unlikely that, owning to their oppositions to the Christian cross, the Jewish interpreters adopted the Kaph form instead of the X – the original tav of Ezekiel 9:4.”

"As to the mode of anointment, an old rabbinical tradition relates (Hor. 12a , Ker. 5b ) that "the kings were anointed in the form of a crown that is, all around the head and the high priests in the form of a Greek Chi (χ ). 

In other words, in anointing the priests the oil was poured first upon the head and then upon the eyebrows (see Rashi, and "' Aruk," s.v. and, as against Kohut's dissertation, compare Plato, "Timæ us," chap. xxxvi., referred to by Justin Martyr, "First Apology," lx.: "He impressed the soul as an unction in the form of the letter χ (chiasma) upon the universe." 

It is not unlikely that, owing to their opposition to the Christian cross, the Jewish interpreters adopted the kaph form instead of the χ — the original tav of Ezekiel 9:4 ]"

The New Bantam-Megiddo Hebrew-English Dictionary, page 1918 of that dictionary, cites the historical reference to the Tav Hebrew letter being made in the shape of a Cross. 

Dr. Seekins’  comparison charts of “Our Ancient Alphabet” , pages 248 -249, include a picture of a coin from 700 B.C., inscribed with a Cross-shaped Tav with a circle around it: “ L’Kushi Tova”  Belonging to Kushi, the son of Tova” .

The COVENANT Established

In ancient Hebrew pictograph letters, the two letters in the name of the last Hebrew letter, TAV,  were “T” and “V” ( vav ),  two consonants. ( Vowels were added centuries later by the Masorites, usually as vowel points under the consonants ).  

Interestingly, “T” was a CROSS, in pictographic Hebrew, and the “V” was a NAIL , in pictographic Hebrew. 

Was it a COINCIDENCE that Ezekiel around the 6^th Century B.C., wrote his anointed vision in Ezekiel 9 that a TAV was the SIGN that saved his people from being slain by the no-nonsense angels of judgment sent by ELOHIM, GOD ?

Here is the POINT:

Brethren, we EACH ONE of us will have to COUNT THE COST. Let us settle now our CHOICE: 

The SIGN of the CROSS

placed by GOD’S Messengers on our forehead 

– OR – 

the Mark of the beast put into our bodies by man.

Either way we choose, we die. . .  sooner or later. 

One death is only temporary, being of this world, and will bring us GREAT REWARD through all Eternity. 

The other death is forever, with an eternal abode in the Lake of Fire with  the satan. 

We must PRACTICE choosing wisely , even now. 

Even now, we must train our children and young people to CHOOSE CHRIST no matter what hardships it brings, even separation from family, friends, and church . . . BECAUSE we never want to be separated from The LORD CHRIST JESUS.

Furthermore , we MUST SET THE EXAMPLE before them.

With determination. With bravery. 

With conviction.

DOUBLE NOTE : 

This is NOT a numbers game nor the Kabbalistic “Gematria”; it is a prophetic indicator which may OR MAY NOT have anything to do with numbers. At times, a DOUBLE will be focused on a DOUBLE concept.

In some prophetic circles, a DOUBLE of some sort is noted as a strong indication of a prophetic sign, that a prophetic message is given which will happen with great certainty. 

For instance, we can openly see a prophetic DOUBLE at work in things like the year “2020” as the open takeover by the New World Order across the globe. 

We can openly see this in things like the destruction of the “Twin” Towers during the 911 offering to the satan.  

Oftentimes we cannot openly see a prophetic DOUBLE , as with the 10 kings of Revelation 17. We tend to focus on the “ten kings” , but the prophetic indicator , the DOUBLE,  is the number 17 itself . . . and it simply points to a CONCEPT that is doubled. 

The DOUBLE is a combination of the 7 heads (mountains) plus the 10 horns = 17. . .  and the chapter number= 17.  That entire CHAPTER deals with the takeover of the world by the wicked, demonized forces. 

Revelation 17:3 

So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.= 17

Revelation 17:9

And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

Revelation 17:12-14

And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

These shall make war with THE LAMB+, and THE LAMB+ shall overcome them: for HE+ is LORD+ of lords, and KING+ of kings: and they that are with HIM+ are called, and chosen, and faithful.

 Therefore,  that DOUBLE points us to the prophetic importance of those 10 kings of Revelation 17 because: 17 is a DOUBLE from both chapter number (17) and the 7 heads ( mountains) plus 10 horns ( ten kings) = 17 again.  

Prophetically, that tells us the 10 kings are GLOBAL, that their rule as a king “without a [ specific, local] kingdom” will be across the face of the earth. 

For those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, we see the 10 global kings operating their demon-led scheme right now and it is in operation as a  world wide web or net.  

In the same way, we can see an obvious DOUBLE in the two 9:4 verses listed above, telling us to PAY ATTENTION; THIS IS IMPORTANT , prophetically. Those two important prophetic verses give us  the same basic message in opposite ways. 

This prophetic “theory” [ for lack of a better term ] is based on verses like this: 

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and GOD hath remembered her iniquities. Revelation 18:4 - 5.

Reward her even as she rewarded you,

AND DOUBLE UNTO HER DOUBLE

according to her works:

in the cup which she hath filled,

fill to her double.

Revelation 18:6

For your shame ye shall have DOUBLE; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the DOUBLE: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

DOUBLES can apply to both the Righteous receiving GOOD things and the unrighteous receiving BAD things.
