Who said this ?
" . . . for ALL THEY that take the sword
A Call to Arms
In the wake of the massacre of
Christians worshipping in a Texas church, Christian pastors and writers have
been issuing a Call to Arms to their congregations and fellow
Followers of The LORD JESUS CHRIST , Y'SHU+ the M'SHIKHA+.
The internet has been full of such
exhortations, even from normally conservative, fundamental Christians.
In utmost sincerity these
Christian pastors and writers, to a man, are calling their flocks to arm
themselves with the weapons OF THIS WORLD . . . with guns, with training on how
to use them, with all the sophisticated technology available . . .
in order to protect the congregation.
And, the people love to have it so.
The prophets prophesy falsely,
and the priests bear rule by their means;
and My people love to have it so:
and what will ye do in the end thereof?
Jeremiah 5:31
Somehow, they --- to a man --- do not hear the Words of CHRIST
JESUS, Y'SHU+ the M'SHIKHA+.
Then said JESUS unto him,
Put up again thy sword into his place:
for ALL THEY that take the sword
shall perish with the sword.
Matthew 26:52
Was the LORD lying to us ?
No.
NEVER.
Did HE+ mean what HE+
said ?
Yes. Always.
This was an out-right statement,
meant EXPLICITLY for correction to His+ disciples, His+ Beloved, His+ Chosen. In this event brought about by His+ own need
of protection --- and how
much MORE RIGHTEOUS could a situation possibly be ? --- The LORD
told His+ Followers exactly what to do with man's earthly weapons.
Exactly WHAT war are WE Christians
fighting? WHICH Kingdom are we
protecting ?
For though we walk in the flesh,
we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of OUR warfare are not carnal,
but MIGHTY through GOD
to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Casting down imaginations,
and every high thing
that exalteth itself
against the knowledge of GOD,
and bringing into captivity
EVERY THOUGHT
to the obedience of CHRIST;
And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience,
when your obedience is fulfilled.
2 Corinthians 10: 3 - 6
We have MIGHTY weapons at our
disposal, weapons that are able to bind the wicked spirits which push
wicked men to do demonic acts.
We have the MIGHTY name of the
LORD JESUS CHRIST Y'SHU+ the M'SHIKHA+ to use to come against those evil
doers. His+ Name can stop them in the
act. His+ Name can paralyze the trigger
finger. His+ Name can deflect the knife
and the machete.
We have the MIGHTY weapon of the
WORD+ of The LORD, which is the SWORD of the SPIRIT ... our
sword.
So... WHY don't we USE them ?
Why don't we use these MIGHTY
and very effectual WEAPONS ?
The LORD gave them to us at
Pentecost, at The Resurrection, and at our own Baptism into His+ Death
& Resurrection. Why do we neglect to use them ?
Why do we so quickly cast them
aside and run to the world's arsenals when tragedies occur ?
This is
WHY: our obedience is LACKING.
Our OBEDIENCE Needs to be
Fulfilled ...
Our TRAINING Needs to be
Embraced ...
Our DISCIPLESHIP Needs to be
Exercised ...
DAILY.
Then --- and only then --- will
we be prepared to protect our loved ones, our family, our friends, our brothers
and sisters in our places of worship.
Measuring Rods
Let us measure ourselves, then,
to see if we are truly READY for such onslaughts from the devil's camp. Here
are just a few measuring rods to start us.
1. Are there any areas of
disobedience willfully operating in our lives ?
In our flocks' lives ?
Does our manner of dress reflect
Christian standards of modesty and shame-of-face ... or rather, does it reflect
the lastest Walmart fashions ?
Does how we spend our time
individually and in the family circles
and in our assemblies warrant the approval of our LORD ?
Is there a GREAT DIFFERENCE in HOW
we spend our time versus how our worldly neighbors and relatives spend their
time ?
2. Is the call to SERIOUS PERSONAL
discipleship omitted from our assemblies, in our family circles, and alas... in
our own lives too ?
Are we calling our families and
friends and our own flesh into a somber time of
daily prayer and quietness before The LORD ? Or rather, are we filling
up our daily schedules --- churches , hear this
--- with so many activies ( all
"good" , of course ) that there is no "down" time for QUIETNESS before The LORD ?
3. Are there corporate and
personal times of SOMBER fasting EQUAL to the days of our corporate and
personal times of FEASTING and celebration ?
For every fellowship dinner, is
there a day set aside to fast and have fellowship with HIM+ alone ?
For every Holiday feast, is there
a PREVIOUS DAY set aside to seek The LORD, to enquire how to give a feast that
HE+ honors ... bringing in those unfortunate ones we know who can never repay
us ?
Or , do we let the Union Missions
take care of that responsibility "for us" ?
But when thou makest a feast,
call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
And thou shalt be blessed;
for they cannot recompense thee:
for thou shalt be recompensed
at the resurrection of the just.
Luke 14: 13-14
When our obedience is fulfilled,
when our training is embraced daily, when our discipleship in the prayer closet
is daily put into practice . . . then we will REMEMBER to call upon The LORD
DURING THESE TIMES of greatest need and HE+ will answer.
Do NOT BE MIS-LED, Brethren.
Empty words have no power over
the forces of evil. We say words; the devil says them back and mocks.
Remember : the sons of Sceva could NOT trick the demons controlling the wicked men.
But when we PICK UP THE CROSS
and die DAILY to our flesh by means of these obediences, for starters, the
devil is RESISTED in our hourly, daily walk. He will flee from us when we use
the Sword of the SPIRIT.
His+ sword is MIGHTY through GOD.
However, if we DO NOT EMBRACE
these obediences, our armor is lacking its pieces and we are incompletely
covered.
Let us move our hearts AWAY from
our daily temporal duties and fix our hearts on proclaiming the Kingdom of GOD
, in season and out, in daily work and during our Assemblies.
THEN WE WILL
BE EQUIPPED to deal with demonized assassins with weapons more powerful, more
accurate than their earthly guns.
And
perhaps,
a pitiful soul will be saved in the process.
