ADVENT # 3 -- Continuously Being CLOSE to The FATHER

  In the beginning was The WORD+

John 1:1

In the beginning was . . . but this WAS is not the English “was”, as an action which took place in the past and ended there.  

In English, the corresponding verb – in meaning --  would be translated as “was continuously BEING.”

 

The Greek is     ην   [ “Ane”] , which is in the indicative, imperfect tense, an uncompleted action with the idea that it was  continuously  happening in the past , according to Zodhiates. Spiros Zodhiates, The Complete Word Study New Testament with Parallel Greek, Grammatical Notations, #44,pg. 865. 

In the beginning was continuously BEING The WORD+

Thus, in the beginning --- before this created world, before Adam, before our human “time” existed --- was continuously BEING The WORD+ . 

The LOGOS+, that particular part of THE ELOHIM in the collective, Divine ECHAD, was ONE with yet distinguishable from The FATHER.  They were continuously BEING One before time as we know it ever started. 

The Greek word “beginning” αρχη  [ ar-kay ], may  also be translated as “at the first.”  

Colossians 1:15 , KJV

Who+ is the image of the invisible GOD,

the Firstborn+ of every creature:

Equally correct, from the Greek:  

The FIRSTBORN+ of all creation.

The FIRSTBORN+ of All Creation tells us that the Proto-Tokos, the FIRSTBORN+, existed before anything else was created. 

HE+ was the Divine prototype of the human race, before the first Adam was formed and later becoming the Second Adam . . .  after the ruination of the first Adam.  

HE+ was continuously being ONE with GOD, yet HE+ was the FIRSTBORN+ , distinguishable from The FATHER.

Let us Pray: 

Dear Loving, Heavenly FATHER, full of Divine Mysteries and Truth, we thank THEE for being approachable in that Divine Love, through Thy HOLY SON+ JESUS. 

THOU, Who made the universe as well as the earth through JESUS, calls us to THEE, lovingly and tenderly as a father calls his flock of children. 

O FATHER, THOU created us to be near THEE in love, designed us to be close to THEE in heart, and formed us to be united to THEE in will. 

Our closeness is Thy delight, just like a good earthly father delights in his off-spring being close in heart to him. 

We thank THEE for giving us a way , nay, THE ONLY WAY, to come into that closeness with THEE, following the footsteps of Thy Beloved SON+ Who+ was Begotten of THEE before earthly time was created.

Ever keeping HIM+ close to THEE, O FATHER, we bless THEE for sending into the human race Thy SON+, Our LORD JESUS CHRIST; our Divine Prototype.

Who+ lives and reigns with THEE and Thy Blessed HOLY SPIRIT: ONE GOD, both now and forever.
