LENTEN SEASON 2025 ~ How Does HE+ Appear to us ? ~ Isaiah 53:2 c.

 Who hath believed our report?

and to whom is the ARM of The LORD revealed?

ISAIAH 53:1

For HE+ shall grow up before HIM

as a tender plant,

and as a root out of a dry ground:

 HE+ hath no form nor comeliness;

and when we shall see HIM+,

there is no beauty that we should desire HIM+

ISAIAH 53:2

+  +  +

Do we delight in handsome, well-formed kings and rulers ?

Is that our standard ?

When The LORD JESUS CHRIST came to us, HE+ was not described as well-favored or “ruddy” as the shepherd boy David was described.

And he Jesse, David’s father sent, and brought him [ David ] in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he. 1 Samuel 16:12

And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance. 1!Samuel 17:42

NO, rather, The LORD JESUS incarnate had no beauty nor grandeur that would catch the eye nor attract the flesh of others to run after HIM+ “because of good looks.”

HE+ came to dwell among mankind without drawing attention to HIMSELF+ in any way, purposefully.  HE+ was easily passed over by those who value handsome flesh, by the earth-bound rabble.

HOWEVER, NOW . . . The Divine KING+ of earthly kings and the Divine LORD+ of earthly lords will blind our earthly eyes when HE+ returns with HIS+ Glorious Splendor !

Will we DESIRE HIM+ then ?

YES, if we have seen beyond His+ dusty feet to see the Wounds in them for our sins.

YES, if we have seen beyond HIS+ sweaty brow to see the gouges of the thorns in the Roman’s  mocking crown.

YES, if we have seen beyond HIS+ carpenter-calloused hands to see the print of the Nails of the CROSS upon which HE+ hung for  SIX pain-filled hours.

Those six long hours  changed the People of the Book who hungered and thirsted after Righteousness.

Those six long hours ALSO changed the Gentiles who hungered and thirsted after Righteousness.

And indeed, THOSE SIX LONG HOURS changed me.

LET US PRAY:

Dear Heavenly FATHER,

I see His+ Beauty in The Sacrifice for my sins, the Beauty of Our “plain” LORD JESUS CHRIST… Who+ never lost HIS+ Beauty in Your eyes.

Help me to realize the beauty YOU bestow upon me when I pick my Cross and follow HIM+ … forsaking all  to become that “Living Sacrifice” for JESUS, which is  my reasonable service.

Blessing, Honor, Power, and Glory be unto HIM+ Who+ is clothed with Majesty !  Our Beautiful REDEEMER+, CHRIST JESUS our LORD !

Amen and Amen. Come, LORD JESUS, COME !
