The DAYSPRING from on High is TENDERLY INSPECTING us . . .
Luke 1:78 - 79
Luke 1:76 And thou, child, shalt be called the Prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the Face of THE LORD to prepare His ways; 1:77 To give knowledge of Salvation unto His people by the remission of their sins,
Through the tender mercy of our GOD;
whereby the DAYSPRING from on High
hath visited us,
To give light to them that sit in darkness
and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the way of Peace.
A praise-filled Prophecy --- the first words spoken by mute Zacharias --- the father of John the Baptist after Zacharias wrote on a tablet, “His name is John.”
…hath visited us : επεσκέψατο = This is a middle deponent Greek verb, meaning HE is involved in doing this to or for or with himself.
Literal Greek = Epi + skopus = looking (us) over.
THUS . . . The LORD stirs HIMSELF to come and Look “over” His people, as in a friendly inspection to ascertain their needs.
Thus, Our GOD “looks us over” ( inspects us ) in His tender, compassionate way and IN THAT FASHION sends out from His Divine abode on High the dawning of His DIVINE LIGHT upon us. . . to meet our need.
How HUMBLE is The GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob !
No-other people across this earth can claim to worship any “god” as tender towards them as is our LORD towards us.
And WHEN HE COMES . . . HE comes with tender compassion upon His children. Just like a father stops his work in the large family garden to come and sit on the edge of his child’s sandbox to watch and talk lovingly to his little one .
And WHAT does that father do ?
He shoos away an insect trying to bite his child.
He steadies the sand lump his child is trying so hard to build, and father pats it more firmly in place.
He extends his long, strong arm to catch the tottering child who clumsily trips over a shovel.
He loves to spend “Daddy time” with his little child. Just to let the child know: DADDY IS HERE for you; all will be well.
Our FATHER Which art in Heaven does the same with us.
Through His tender compassions. Through His HOLY SPIRIT. Through His Beloved SON+ JESUS CHRIST our SAVIOR+.
When we KNOW the Character of Our FATHER, then we can be assured that HE will send His SON+ to bring us His LIGHT when we walk in darkness and the shadow of death.
For, it is written:
If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from THEE; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike TO THEE. Psalm 139: 11-12
Only our LORD can make our darkness LIGHT
because HE is LIGHT.
John 1:9
JESUS IS THE TRUE LIGHT
WHICH LIGHTETH EVERY MAN
THAT COMETH INTO THE WORLD.
O LORD GOD,
Be THOU my vision in the darkness, for NOTHING is dark to THEE.
In JESUS’ name, I pray. Amen
