WHO is CAUSING the Two Demonic, Women-Like Creatures to Transport "THE WICKEDNESS" ? ~ ZECHARIAH 5:10

Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the EPHAH? Zechariah 5:10

  

 וָאֹמַ֕ר אֶל־הַמַּלְאָ֖ךְ הַדֹּבֵ֣ר בִּ֑י אָ֛נָה הֵ֥מָּה מֹֽולִכֹ֖ות אֶת־הָאֵיפָֽה׃

LITERAL TRANSLATION: 

And then, I was saying to the angel speaking with me,

“Where (are) they ( masculine)

CAUSING the ones ( Feminine, plural ) carrying * 

the Measuring-Basket ?”

* In English, we would say:

“ . . . causing the female ones to carry the EPHAH?”

INTERPRETATION:

This awkwardly-jointed verse, in the Hebrew grammar, opens our eyes a little further.

The masculine plural pronoun for “they” 

 [ haymmah ] jolts us awake.

Obviously, the women-like creatures would be considered a Feminine plural entity in pronoun references, so we would EXPECT the Hebrew grammar in this verse to reflect a Feminine “they” . . . but it does not.   

We noted the masculine of them or their in “ wings of them” earlier in verse 9 when it would SEEM to need a Feminine “their” in reference to the wings of the demonic, women-like creatures.

It seems, then, that these demonic entities float back and forth between  masculine and Feminine characteristics. 

The verb is in the Hiphel stem again. Hiphel is CAUSATIVE.  The subject CAUSES some action but does not do it himself. 

It is awkward to translate the Hiphel stem’s concept or idea into English.

[ NOTE: “He wrote” is in the Qal, simple stem. When “write” is used in the Hiphel stem it means: “He dictated.”  The Hebrew concept: The subject CAUSED someone to write. ]

Sometimes, the English would use an entirely different verb ( like in the example of “write” and “dictated”.)   

At other times, there simply is no other verb in English, as in “go” or “CAUSED to go”.  So there is much lost in the translation when the Hebrew Hiphel is put into English idiom so that “we can understand it”.  

So then , DO WE  truly understand the true meaning or is it LOST to us when we use our smoothed-over "English way to say it”  ?

Here in this verse, the masculine “they” are NOT carrying the basket. 

They are causing someone 

or something else to do so.

If we wish to be true to the LITERAL, it would seem that the masculine spirit “on their wings” (verse  9 ) would be the one CAUSING the carrying of the basket to its new abode.

It would be the same spirit ( demonic , masculine) upon each wing, hence the masculine pronoun “they” as the ones CAUSING the women-like creatures to carry the basket. 

In other words, “they”, the SAME demonic spirit upon each wing,  was empowering the demonic female creatures to carry the basket to another place . . . AND TIME.
