It is documented that Mr. Kurt Aland advocated:

·       REMOVING the book of HEBREWS 

·       REMOVING  REVELATION

·       REMOVING  2 PETER

·       REMOVING 2 and 3 JOHN

·       REMOVING JUDE

·       CITING  LUTHER, Aland questioned the canonicity of the book of JAMES, as well.

KURT ALAND denied the verbal inspiration of the Bible and wanted to see all denominations united into one "body" by the acceptance of a new ecumenical canon of Scripture which would take into account the Catholic apocryphal books .

 Who is willing to stand  with Mr. Aland  and face the Eternal  SON+ of GOD, the Eternal LOGOS+, the Eternal WORD+ of GOD  . . .  knowing all this ?

For wheresoever 

the carcass is,

there will the eagles be gathered together.

Words of Our LORD JESUS CHRIST,

                                                              Matthew   24:28

In other words, 

where the DEAD BODY is gathered, 

there the STRONG BIRDS OF FLIGHT

 will be gathered, also.

Those “strong birds of flight” which ride the thermals of the air may well be translated as VULTURES. . .

especially since the context is about dead bodies.  

Christians who are dead to CHRIST, being deceived by false spirits of false prophets and false “Christs” , will be gathered together. At that place will the vultures come, to devour the flock.

Who is the “dead body”, the carcass ?

WE ARE . . . if we follow antiChrist spirits.

They will lead us DIRECTLY to false teachers and prophets. This will eventually lead us to following the antiChrist himself, as we will not be able to recognize him as being THE antiChrist.

If we Christians fail to separate ourselves from the values of the world, we become FREE MEAT for the vultures. 

If we are lured into a false security, mesmerized by a false prosperity, we again become FREE MEAT for these vultures. 

If we are minding earthly things and not taking heed to the anti-Christ spirits plaguing the body of CHRIST, then we become a free meal for the vultures gathered around us.  

How many times The LORD has warned us to TAKE HEED what we hear and how we hear ! 

How many times has HE+ warned us to TAKE HEED , that we be not a part of the dead body . . . that we be not food for these vultures which prey upon the Body ?

Take heed therefore how ye hear:

for whosoever hath, to him shall be given;

and whosoever hath not,

from him shall be taken

even that which he seemeth to have.

Luke 8:18

The LORD JESUS CHRIST warned us to take heed 16 times and in every Gospel book.

HE+ warned us to take heed in a variety of situations dealing with Self, dealing with the politicians, and dealing with the religious leaders , all things which may lead us DIRECTLY into the MAW of the antiChrist.

And Jesus answering them began to say,

Take heed lest any man deceive you:

KJV Mark 13:5

Let us NOTICE that man is in italics; it has been added to the translation.

What HE+ said was:

Take heed lest any deceive you.

His+ statement encompasses lying spirits

as well as men.

How do we know if someone is a false teacher who has the spirit of the antiChrist ?

We look at his life and his words.

In order to deceive, a lying spirit must MINGLE truth with his error. To deceive others, a false teacher MINGLES his error with Truth.  As the Apostle Paul warned us: 

A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

KURT ALAND: The Emperor has NO Clothes

Kurt Aland, of Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament fame, did not START this current Age of Apostasy. No, rather, he was a product of it. 

Unfortunately, he promoted 

--- in the name of Greek scholarship ---

a destruction of the HOLY WORD of GOD.

Mr. Aland led the

Nestle-Aland 21^st through 27^th Editions

of the Greek New Testament.

The changes Mr. Aland made, encouraged, and promoted in the Greek text of the New Testament were the basis for: 

·        Wycliffe Bible translations with SIL, 

·        the United Bible Societies Greek New Testament, in conjunction with the American Bible Society,

·        and the foundation of all the modern English New Testaments flooding the market today. 

Mr. Aland’s bias AGAINST the Greek Byzantine manuscripts has been well-documented. His favoritism towards the Alexandrian manuscripts was very obvious by his methodology of lumping the Byzantine manuscripts together under one sigla, one sign which stood for them all. 

His choice of “best” manuscripts were “Early” and Alexandrian. 

[ Keep in mind that in the Alexandrian camp, “Early”, pertains to the physical manuscript, not necessarily the age of the reading which was copied or the actual words which were copied… which very well may have been from a far earlier source  than the earliest physical papyrus or parchment. ] 

Because of his bias, Mr. Aland ever favored un-worthy Greek texts like Papyrus 66 ( early ) and Minuscule 33 (Alexandrian).

The faults of these manuscripts , illegible sections with  missing letters, errors, or nonsensical readings, are NOT  openly stated in the apparatus of Mr. Aland’s Greek texts over the years when they are cited as “proof” of the validity of variant readings.

 

Even from the WAY he established categories of the manuscripts, Mr. Aland blatantly revealed his bias.

In short, Mr. Aland constructed “his” own Greek text, a Greek text which met with “his” approval.

Sadly, his methodology of using the Early Alexandrian manuscripts was not precisely followed either, for when he wanted a phrase removed, he ignored his previously honored Early Alexandrian mss and found others which would fortify his personal choices.

Keep in mind that NA 28^th has retained the same reading of Mr. Aland’s NA 26^th and 27^th  for 1 John 4:3 , even though Mr. Aland did not work on the 28^th edition himself.

Unfortunately for us all, his edited Greek text did not remain hidden for his own private use.

No, rather, he promoted it, establishing an Institute for New Testament Textual Research ( INTF) in Germany at Munster University  about 1959 .  

Then, Mr. Aland was APPOINTED leading roles in the editorial committees of the UBS as well as the Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament. 

His Institute ( INTF) is still producing newly-altered Greek texts even 14 years after Mr. Aland’s death as we have in the Nestle-Aland 28^th Greek New Testament.

The INTF is WORKING on the 29^th  Edition now.

 Having  re-worded the Greek text in the 7 General Epistles in the 28^th edition, the INTF is laboring to RE-WORD THE REMAINDER of the Greek NEW TESTAMENT in the coming 29^th Edition, changing it , ever changing it,  even from the original edited Greek N T of Nestle – Aland. 

Thus, his bias was promulgated world-wide among translators and also among Christian seminaries. The churches in general followed his lead and his scholarship . . . and his biases. 

Setting aside his open bias for “early” and / or Alexandrian Greek texts  --- and ignoring the thousands of the Byzantine Greek manuscripts --- what EXACTLY did Mr. Aland approve of, Spiritually- speaking ? 

We can see a glimpse of what met his approval by looking at his writings and messages he spoke at conferences, etc. 

In this paper by A. Hembd, MACS, Reformation International Theological Seminary, A consultant to the Society,  he presented some arresting FACTS taken from Mr. Aland’s personal writings and comments.

Mr. Aland denied, like Bruce Metzger,

the authorship of the Gospel books.

In other words, Mr. Aland did not believe that Matthew wrote the book of Matthew, nor that Mark wrote his book, nor Luke , his. 

He questioned that the Apostle John wrote his book in spite of the internal references that Apostle made to himself within the book.

Is THIS the kind of “scholar” Christians need

to help them determine 

the “correct” readings in our Bibles ?

Or the “correct” Greek manuscripts to use ?

In amongst his many words, Mr. Aland advocated:

·       REMOVING the book of HEBREWS 

·       REMOVING  REVELATION

·       REMOVING  2 PETER

·       REMOVING 2 and 3 JOHN

·       REMOVING JUDE

Mr. Aland stated that he thought the writings of Ignatius far surpassed certain of the New Testament ( general ) letters. 

In short, Mr. Aland went FAR BEYOND his expertise in reading  Greek New Testament manuscripts. 

Instead, he picked up the mantle cast upon him from the followers of  Westcott-Hort  and ALTERED the Greek text of the New Testament from which modern translators work. . .  in accord with his own, or somebody’s,  agenda.

AGAIN . .  is THIS the kind of “scholar” Christians need to determine the “correct” readings in our Bibles ? Or the “correct” Greek manuscripts to use ? 

An examination of Dr Kurt Aland’s views on the inspiration of the Bible

“ It can be rather difficult to find anything that openly displays Dr Aland’s views concerning the inspiration, inerrancy and infallibility of the Scriptures.

However, there are three little-known works of his that are most revealing, two relatively early works, written in 1961 and 1962, and one later work, in 1985.

We address first the two earlier works. One is entitled ‘The Problem of Anonymity and Pseudonymity in Christian Literature of the First Two Centuries’, written in 1961.

In that booklet, Dr Aland denies the apostolic authorship of the Four Gospels, the Catholic Epistles, the Pastoral Epistles, and Hebrews.

. . .  The other work is entitled The Problem of the New Testament Canon, written in 1962. In this work, Dr Aland expresses his doubts as to the canonicity of several New Testament books.

. . . But unquestionably, a man who doubts the canonicity of several books of the Bible—specifically, 2 Peter, James, 1 and 2 John, and Jude—cannot at all believe in Bible inerrancy.

How can the Bible be infallible, if it has several books in it that do not belong there?

The most famous modern English versions of the New Testament

·       the Revised Standard Version ( RSV),

·       the New American Standard Version (ASV),

·       the New International Version (NIV) , and

·       the English Standard Version (ESV)

are all grounded on, and, for the most part, translated from, Dr Aland’s work.

These translations utilize as their principal text (with its critical apparatus and alternate readings) the United Bible Societies (UBS) version of the Greek New Testament, a version over which Dr Aland was a principal editor. Indeed, the UBS version third edition (1983) is virtually the same as Aland’s own twenty-sixth edition of the Nestle.
