How is it
possible that we should count the BLOOD+ of the Covenant an "unholy"
thing , a common thing, a profane thing , a “garment” that can be tossed away ?
How do we do this awful
thing ?
Let’s look at our thoughts.

present unto THEE+ our selves, our souls, and our bodies to be a holy and
Living Sacrifice unto THEE+ . . . which is our reasonable service."

The BLOOD of HIS SON+, The LORD
JESUS CHRIST,
is precious to The FATHER.
Do we love what The FATHER loves
?
The only barrier against the satan
that we humans have is the Love of GOD, sent
directly to us through the sacrifice of HIS Only-Begotten SON+, our LORD
and SAVIOR+ JESUS CHRIST.
It was a costly sacrifice, as even
earthly fathers would acutely realize.
Hear the dire warning
from the book of Hebrews.
to those who would IGNORE the holiness
of the BLOOD+ of CHRIST.
He that despised Moses’ law
died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment,
suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy,
who hath trodden under
foot the SON+ of GOD,
and hath counted the BLOOD+ of the Covenant,
wherewith he was
Sanctified,
an unholy thing,
and hath done despite
unto the Spirit of grace?
Hebrews 10: 28-29

How is it
possible that we should count the BLOOD+ of the Covenant an "unholy"
thing , a common thing, a profane thing , a “garment” that can be tossed away ?
How do we do this awful
thing ?
Let’s look at our thoughts.
Are there
thought patterns and behaviors which "count" the BLOOD+ of CHRIST as
an "unholy" thing... something common or profane ?
Do we
treat the BLOOD+ of CHRIST in an irreverent way . . . to discard it as a garment or assume it
casually, at will ?
Yes, we
actually profane the BLOOD+ of CHRIST in many ways, but they can all be summed
up like this:
" I know this is not quite right,
maybe wrong . . .
but I will do it now, this one time,
and get it out of my system,
and repent afterwards.
The LORD knows how hard it is for me to fight this urge."
If we
fling off the BLOOD+ of CHRIST until our "urge" ( of whatever kind )
is indulged, we are in grave danger . . . for the BLOOD+ itself will
witness against us !
The Divine Protection draws back, recedes,
and lets us feel the dreadful whiplash called "experience."
Even as our
old man is "gloating" inside of us, puffed up, assuring us that we
CAN work our own will and suffer no harm,
we will be out from under His+
Protection. Immediately. Right as we are in the process of doing what we know
we should NOT be doing, whatever it may be.
What
was given for our protection
now
testifies AGAINST US.
Now, harken: these
indulgences of Self may be physical or not.
They
may also be
of the mind and heart.
We entertain
thoughts that come from our old man, our Adamic nature, our existence as an
UnRedeemed man.
We harbor
values --- a pretty home ? being “in charge” at work ? --- that puff up
our Self-satisfaction. We seek to look good in the eyes of our neighbors,
relatives, and friends.
We savor things in
our hearts --- fleshly events, our cute and clever interactions, secret pride,
covetous day-dreams --- which all run counter
to the CHARACTER of CHRIST.
All these
Self-oriented indulgences are harbored in secret, you see,
because somewhere inside of us, we know CHRIST JESUS would not
tolerate them.
We have counted the BLOOD+ of
CHRIST, then, an unholy, unsanctified “garment”
that can be conveniently tossed aside
. . . whenever we wish to indulge our earth-centered, faith-lacking,
Self-centered Adamic nature, be it physical, emotional, or mental.
LET US PRAY:
O HOLY
FATHER, I have been remiss. I have
played with fire. Can a man take fire into his bosom and not be burned ?
Here, O LORD,
I uncover the fire I have hidden in my bosom with these unholy indulgences of
Self. I bring these hidden values,
day-dreams, and empty imaginations into the Light of Thy HOLY SON+ JESUS; I
will not harbor them any longer.
O LORD,
please forgive my wayward ways, my wanderings into the pathways of fear and of
flesh.
Cleanse
me again by Thy BLOOD+ ... that marvelous, soul-cleansing BLOOD+ of the
LAMB+. Make my garments spotless, make
them white as snow.
Wash me
in the BLOOD+ of The LAMB+. Amen.
Purge me with hyssop,
and I shall be clean:
Wash me,
and I shall be whiter than snow.
Psalm 51:7

But if we walk in the light,
as HE is in the Light,
we have fellowship one with another,
and the BLOOD+ of JESUS CHRIST,
HIS SON+,
cleanseth us from all sin.
