In Loving Memory of All The CHRISTIAN MARTYRS and CONFESSORS Who Died on the Battlefield of Planet Earth, for Confessing the Name of JESUS Before the Face of Men

~ ~ ~  or, a TRUE Memorial Day to Celebrate  ~  ~  ~
The CHRISTIAN MARTYRS' LAST PRAYER
by Jean-Leon Gerome

For our citizenship is in Heaven, from whence also we look for the SAVIOUR, the LORD JESUS CHRIST...

TO HONOR AND REMEMBER THOSE WHO HAVE DIED AND THOSE WHO ARE DYING FOR THE LORD+ THIS VERY DAY.

Anabaptist Martyrs in Ghent, 1550's
Precious in the sight of The LORD
is the death of His+ Saints.

WHO+ shall change  the body of our humiliation that it may be fashioned like unto HIS+ Glorious Body according to the working whereby HE+ is able even to subdue all things unto HIMSELF.+

St. Stephen, the first  Martyr for CHRIST

WORDS OF JESUS from Matthew 10: 28-29  ~  ~  ~

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear HIM which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your FATHER.

But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Whosoever therefore
shall confess ME+ before men,
him will I+ confess also
before My+ FATHER
which is in Heaven.

But whosoever shall deny ME+ before men,
him will I+ also deny
before My+ FATHER
which is in Heaven.

Think not that I+ am come to send peace on earth: I+ came not to send peace, but a sword.

For I+ am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

He that loveth father or mother more than ME+
is not worthy of ME+:
and he that loveth son or daughter more than ME+
is not worthy of ME+.

And he that taketh not his cross,
and followeth after ME+,
is not worthy of ME+.

He that findeth his life shall lose it:
and he that loseth his life for My+ Sake shall find it.

Dear LORD JESUS

Enable us with Thy+ Blessed HOLY SPIRIT with the power of Pentecost to seal our testimony to THEE+ with our blood. Help us to be as steadfast as our family of Martyrs and Confessors.

Almighty GOD, Whose most dear SON+ JESUS CHRIST went not up to joy but first HE+ suffered pain, and entered not into glory before HE+ was crucified;

Mercifully grant that we, walking in the Way of the Cross, may find it none other than the Way of Life and Peace;

Through the same, Thy SON+ JESUS CHRIST our LORD. Amen ~
The Collect, Monday before Easter, Book of Common Prayer, 1945

In the name of The FATHER,
WHO created us,
and His Beloved SON+ JESUS CHRIST ,
Who+ saves us, and
The Blessed HOLY SPIRIT,
Who sanctifies us.
Amen
